No more mama shop

It appears the existence of a mama shop is no more in the block I live in, soon to be replaced by just another 7-11 store.
I remember the fun times I used to have playing below my block and eating cheap ice sticks from the mama shop (which was oddly owned by an old Chinese couple instead of a mama)
They were a pair of jolly good fellows who knew all the neighborhood kids by name and even rescued me by calling my mum when I was getting pushing around and down by an older lianster when I was about nine or ten.
