Just finished watching this movie and I really enjoyed it. And then I thought I would share it as my blog entry since a while (I’m blaming it on twitter coz using it allows me to cyber-whore myself on the go as well…the curse of technology..^*&8%$#%$%)..

Ok, I’ll keep this spoiler-free…:)

“Golden Slumber” sucked me in with the story premise presented in the trailer, a conspiracy/action plot not uncommon in many American films but the first I had seen for the Japanese market.

Without the use of too many spectacular action visuals that hollywood so generously throws into our faces, I felt the film did a great job on presenting the action, even side-tracking to some very crazy sub-plots….and also the inter-human side of the story.

The film is definitely not like any movie of the same genre I’ve seen…and if I’ve guessed correctly, I’m very glad to realize the film creators weren’t trying to make a hollywood blockbuster either..:p

It was a surprise…bizarre in ways that only the Japanese can show the world and heart-warming……stir in some characters and hopeful themes only encountered in mangas and anime and you have this film covered.

It appears the existence of a mama shop is no more in the block I live in, soon to be replaced by just another 7-11 store.

I remember the fun times I used to have playing below my block and eating cheap ice sticks from the mama shop (which was oddly owned by an old Chinese couple instead of a mama)

They were a pair of jolly good fellows who knew all the neighborhood kids by name and even rescued me by calling my mum when I was getting pushing around and down by an older lianster when I was about nine or ten.

The times they are a changing…

How else better to start a saturday morning than waking up to a precious sleeping face of a chinchilla who somehow snuggled with my arms in the night (without getting smashed…phew)

But as I was about to coo "I love you, Buttons" … I realized what a mistake it is to have fallen asleep while Buttons was out of his cage…

My precious precious vintage leather handbag from Australia…has been chewed up a little more than the last time he got to it…argh…:(
